This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on medonay.com and medonay.com.tr. For general information about how we process personal data, see the KVKK Information Notice.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. Keeping you signed in and remembering your language preference are both done with cookies.
Our approach
No non-essential cookie runs before you consent to it. If you choose "Essential only" on the banner shown at your first visit, nothing that is not marked "Essential" in the table below is loaded.
We use no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no third-party profiling technology.
Cookies in use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
auth_token | Essential | Maintains the panel session. Only for signed-in users | Session |
refresh_token | Essential | Renews the session securely | 30 days |
NEXT_LOCALE | Essential | Remembers the interface language you chose | 1 year |
medonay_cookie_consent | Essential | Stores the choice you make on this banner | 1 year |
| TalkOmni chat assistant | Optional | Runs the chat window and keeps your conversation going | Set by the provider |
The session and refresh cookies are readable only by the server (HttpOnly); scripts in the browser cannot access them.
Why essential cookies do not need consent
Under the KVKK and the Authority's guidance, cookies strictly necessary to deliver the service you requested do not require explicit consent. Without the session cookie you cannot sign in to the panel; without the language cookie your chosen language resets on every page.
Optional: the TalkOmni chat assistant
The chat window on the site is provided by TalkOmni, a separate product operated by the same legal entity as Medonay; it is not an independent third party. When you consent, its script is loaded and it stores a session identifier in your browser so your conversation can continue. The messages you write are processed on TalkOmni's infrastructure, at the same cloud provider and in the same region (Belgium) as Medonay. Details: Sub-processors.
This assistant is not necessary for the site to work. If you do not consent, the script is never loaded, the chat window does not appear, and the rest of the site behaves normally.
Changing your choice
You can change your decision at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of the page. When you withdraw consent, the optional script is not executed on the next page load.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies means you will not be able to sign in to the panel.
Changes
This policy is updated, with a new version number and effective date, whenever the cookies we use change.
